Dental Standard of Care Periodontal Disease, a painful inflammatory condition in which bacteria attack the gums, teeth, and jaw, results in bad breath, sore gums, and tooth loss. If left unchecked, bacteria from the mouth can even enter the blood stream and effect major organs. Routine care can help to prevent periodontal disease. |
We commonly perform routine dental cleaning and polishing, with digital dental x-rays included with all treatments. Our doctors and technicians are also trained in advanced dental treatments and are equipped to handle tooth extractions and oral surgery. |
Our staff is also experienced in working with senior patients. Having pets of our own, we understand the concerns associated with anesthetizing an older pet. We emphasize safety measures such as complimentary pre-treatment exam, pre-anesthetic blood work, IV catheters, fluid therapy, anesthetic monitoring by a certificated technician and pain medication. |
After your pet’s dental procedure, a technician will cover after care instructions detailing follow-up care and preventive home care, including a printed version of the aftercare directions with “before and after” photos of your pet’s mouth. Now that the teeth are clean, a preventive home care brushing plan is recommended, using brushing and specially formulated pet-safe toothpaste. |
